Exploratory Committee Announcement
August 25, 2011
I love this great country of ours; this nation of high ideals and great opportunity; a nation which has been a beacon and even the savior of other nations for many generations.
I am a beneficiary of the American Dream and I wish to give something back to my community and to my country at large.
The issues facing our country today cannot be solved by political parties scoring points with political sound bites for the news media and talk shows. We know this is not how to get things done!
Our budget is a fiscal disaster and our economy will face turmoil in the coming years. Our social and cultural fabric is being torn apart by career politicians who are merely concerned with their reelection. They cynically exploit our fears in order to divide us for their personal gain at a time when we need each other the most.
The future of our country will depend on our ability to reunite America and restore its great promise! Then, America can regain its competitive edge by stabilizing the economy and creating productive and high paying jobs in our communities and throughout the nation.
We need someone new in Washington focused on the people of our great State. Therefore, after talking to my family and friends, and receiving their encouragement and blessing, I am announcing today the development of an exploratory committee to run for the U.S. Congress as a Democrat.
I am a happily married father of two and a longtime resident of Dallas County. I am a U.S. Army veteran who believes in a strong military and strong national security. Above all, I believe in the right of all Americans to live in dignity and their right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
As a successful businessman, I will draw on my life experiences to serve as a true and dedicated representative of the people. After all, I strongly believe that America?s greatness comes first and foremost from its people.
I look forward to talking to the families, business owners, educators and other constituents, and then working together to define real solutions to recreate the American dream for the American family.
